I don’t believe it, but Apple’s iTunes is celebrating its 5th birthday today!
The popular online music store started back in 2008, and ever since its release it has brought the music industry into the 21st century, and now it’s about to bring the radio into the 21st century with iRadio, which was announced back in June at WWDC 2013.
But, as you probably know, iTunes isn’t all about music, it’s about apps and games as well. This is what Tim Cook (Apple CEO) said about the iTunes App Store last month:
“Nothing like the App Store existed before and it has fundamentally changed the world.”
And you’ll probably also know that the iTunes’ App Store also celebrated its 50th billionth app download earlier this year.
And if you think you’ve heard it all, think again! Apple figures show that approximately 800 iOS and Mac apps are downloaded across the world every second.
